SNAPPANE FAQs

  • What types of payment methods does SnapPane accept?

    • SnapPane accepts all major credit cards, electronic/paper checks, as well as cash.

  • What is the warranty for my new windows and doors?

    • The warranty will all depend on the product selected at time of order and whether or not it was installed by us or the customer.  Typically, our products come with a lifetime warranty.

  • What are SnapPane's hours of operation?

    • Our office is open on Monday through Friday from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm

    • Our office is open on Saturday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm

  • What material are our windows made from?

    • We offer many options for our windows including wood, vinyl, and aluminum.  Most of the windows we sell are made from a multi-chambered vinyl extrusion that is welded in the corners and reinforced with metal to increase its structural rigidity.

  • How long does it take to install my new products?

    • Typically we schedule all projects containing over 10 windows for a two day period.  This ensures plenty of time for cleaning, caulking, and capping.

  • What will a typical installation be like?

    • SnapPane puts our customers happiness at the forefront of our business.  At the beginning of each installation, we prepare the openings (protect the floor, cover the furniture, double check measurements, etc.).  During the first stage of demolition, our installers will remove all window and door panes from the opening.  Next, the installer will remove the existing window frame and insert the new window.  Finally, our team will insulate any cavity around the window (should one exist) and caulk the exterior and interior.

  • How long does it take to get my new windows?
    • Vinyl: We usually are able to get all of our products in about two weeks.  That being said, orders that contain specialty shapes, or abnormally large openings can take up to 4 weeks.
    • Aluminum: As a general rule of thumb, aluminum has the longest lead time of any window.  Our current lead times for aluminum windows is about 10 weeks.

GLASS RATINGS DEFINED

  • What is Low-E glass?

    • Low-E stands for low emissivity.  It is a microscopically thin coating that is transparent to the human eye.  However, this coating reflects heat at a very high rate which leads to a highly efficient window.

  • What is U-Value?

    • U-Factor is the measure of heat transfer and tells you how well insulated that window unit is.  Generally this number ranges from 0.25-1.25.  The lower the U-Factor, the better the window insulates.

  • What is SHGC?

    • SHGC stands for "Solar Heat Gain Coefficient" and measure the amount of solar energy transmitted.  This in turn tells the customer how well the window product blocks heat from the sun.  The standard values are from 0 to 1.  The lower the less solar heat the window transmits.

  • What is visible transmittance?

    • Visible transmittance, or VT measure the amount of light the window lets through.
